Lynchburg Pain Management
You Don’t Have to Suffer From Chronic Pain
Pain acts as a signal from your body to let you know that something isn’t quite right. Chiropractic Care Center specializes in managing and overcoming pain through proven chiropractic techniques. Rather than focus on treating the symptoms your body is experiencing, we treat pain at the source. Dr. Will Likins is a highly trained and licensed chiropractor in Lynchburg and Forest, VA. If you’re suffering from chronic pain, please contact us today to schedule an appointment.
How Chiropractic Can Help With Pain
Pain management is a term in mainstream medicine that is used to describe the treatment of conditions for which there is no correction or expected method of long-term resolution. In other words, patients are often told there is no way to fix their health problem, but instead, they need to manage their symptoms through medications or pharmaceuticals. While there are some diseases and degenerative conditions for which this is true, I'm not fond of the term pain management.
After being told they need pain management, patients who walk into my Lynchburg chiropractic office are typically surprised by what I tell them. I'm often suggesting to them that we correct the cause of their problem, instead of focusing on pain management. This can be confusing for patients because they have often seen their primary care physician, had an orthopedic consultation, physical therapy, injections, and have been given a stack of medications.
They are told they have tried everything and must accept this condition. The reality is that most doctors do not consider chiropractic as an option for pain management. While chiropractic is typically covered by insurance, doctors often do not provide it as a resource for their patients. That means the vast majority of patients who are confronted with the term pain management are not even aware of what chiropractic has to offer.
Conditions Treated
Conditions I treat regularly include:
Degenerative joint disease
Fibromyalgia
Pain secondary to autoimmune disorders
Conditions that limit body movement
Peripheral neuropathies
Disc disorders
Pain from past injuries or accidents
If you have been in pain management or have been told you will need pain management, schedule a consultation. Together we will assess whether we can improve your quality of life, limit your suffering, and possibly eliminate any unnecessary pharmaceuticals. Chiropractic is a powerful tool in breaking the cycle of pain management.
